Introducing cannabis-themed weddings at Chicago's wedding show: Indie Wed

At the beginning of this month, we participated in a craft wedding show called Indie Wed that took place at the Ravenswood Event Center. A lot of people don’t know this about us, but we also come from the wedding industry so this wasn’t new territory for us. In fact, being back in the scene only regenerated our natural reflexes when it came to speaking to engaged couples. We had such a great time showcasing our booth to guests, reconnecting with some familiar faces, and meeting new vendors.

We created three mock-up designs: an escort/gift table, a sweetheart dinner table, and a bud bar service. We designed our own wedding stationery set, escort cards, and menus.

Our escort/gift table mockup included custom designed invitation set, matching escort cards, a place for gift cards, and a beautiful hand-painted decanter called Stardust from My Bud Vase sponsored by Bliss CBD Shop for an added touch.

The sweetheart table had a decorated plate setting for the bride & groom, each with their own special glass smoking device.

A branded pre-roll for your guests to take home??? Yes, this is true! And why not? This is a cannabis-themed wedding after all!

We brought our jewelry collection along and guests loved them, even picking up a few pieces to sport around the event.

And of course you need a bud bar at your wedding with tasty edibles such as gummies & macarons from Epic Snacks, even tinctures. We now offer full-service budtending service for your wedding that will come equipped with everything you need from a professional canna-sieur to cbd tinctures.

Lastly, we created proposal boxes for the best man & maid of honor and did a giveaway to our guests. Our best man box had a beard kit with hemp based balm & oil from The Beard Corp and smoking accessories from RAW ambassador Professor Dab.

Our MOH proposal box included a set of earrings & a necklace from our jewelry line. We were also blessed with some goodies from Cannabellalux that included one hitters, a bag of crystals, pretty rolling papers, a necklace, and a ring joint holder from High Society Collection.

For full-service event planning & photography packages along with a custom bud bar for your wedding day, send us an email at info@hushchicago.com. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and spent time with us!

Ringing in legalization in IL with a masquerade party!

On the last day of 2019, we hosted an End of Prohibition: Masquerade Affair to ring in legalization properly in the new year. Also serving as the one year anniversary of our brand launch, we wanted to create another fun experience for the community. Since this was such a big occasion, we wanted to ensure our guests were fully immersed in not just the enjoyment of the plant but in recognition & celebration of how far we’ve come in fighting for legalization.

Once again, we brought in Nate of Johnson Ice Studios to create a special ice sculpture for our guests to enjoy. The finished piece was a sculpted leaf with a base that can serve 4 guests at the same time. Thank you to our flower sponsor, All The Exotics, for bringing in the greenery!

Thank you to Cry Baby Sweets for making beautiful arrangements for our sweets table, Heidi’s Happy Treats & El Chingon for the savory munchies, Petal & Love Cork Screw for tasty beverages, Boxed Water for keeping our guests hydrated, Smokepost CBD for our trusty cbd bar, Professor Dab for the dab bar, and Eli’s Cheesecake for all the cheesecake we could imagine!

Yanna Cello, a trap cellist, lit up the crowd with her cello & trap mashups and the Brazilian Swag Dancers helped us ring in the new year in style as they shared the dance floor with our guests. Upon the stroke of midnight, guests were encouraged to remove their masks as a symbol of the end of prohibition in Illinois.

Thank you to our guests who chose to celebrate a special time with us and we are grateful for our vendors - Johnny’z infuzed, Llama Edibles, High Chic Society, Chummy Edibles - our DJs Dewey Lo Hace & 3Snapz, our staff, venue, and security guards who helped make this a successful event for all of us!
